Sarah Szuminski and Clinton Michael Haby

Sarah Melissa Szuminski and Clinton Michael Haby were united in marriage on April 8, 2017, at La Cantera Resort and Spa in San Antonio, Texas, with Pastor Steve Teel officiating the ceremony.

The bride is the daughter of Ernest Charles and Teresa Szuminski of San Antonio. She is the granddaughter of the late Ernest and Elizabeth (Botek) Szuminski of Lansford and Ernest and Rose Davis of San Antonio.The bridegroom is the son of Curtis and Shirleyrene Haby of Helotes, Texas. He is the grandson of Hazen Haby and the late Faye Haby of Mico, Texas, and the late John and Selina Benke of San Antonio.Heather Szuminski, sister of the bride, was maid of honor. The groom's brother, Shaun Haby, served as best man.Sarah was escorted by her father down an outdoor staircase to an altar framed by the El Fortin Arches of limestone overlooking the Texas Hill Country. She wore an ivory gown by Hailey Paige. It was designed with a dupioni strapless and sculpted elongated bodice with a tulle fit to flare tiered skirt and horsehair trim. With the gown, she wore an ivory lace, off the shoulder bolero jacket. She carried an antique-styled bouquet of blush pink, mauve and ivory roses with wispy small eucalyptus leaves spread throughout. Sarah held an ivory lace handkerchief given to her by her mother and maternal grandmother. She wore her paternal grandmother's gold baptismal pin and a tiny gold aviator wings pin from her father, on the bridal garter.A string trio performed before and during the ceremony. Siblings of the bride and bridegroom, Jason Szuminski, Tamra Haby and Britney Haby gave scripture and poetry readings. Kiera Sammis, a friend of the bride, sang "Ave Maria."Following the ceremony, guests were shuttled to the Palmer Golf Clubhouse on the resort property. Guests mingled inside and on the terrace overlooking the golf course enjoying cocktails and appetizers to the music of Spanish guitarist, Terry Muska. Afterward, guests flowed outside to the garden patio terrace for dinner and dancing. The reception ended with Sarah and Clinton departing through a sparkler send off and being driven away in a candy apple red 1951 Buick Roadmaster convertible.On April 9, Sarah and Clinton hosted a second reception for extended family and friends. Around three hundred guests enjoyed a casual boots and barbecue celebration with the couple at Aggie Park in San Antonio.The bridegroom's parents gathered the family for a rehearsal dinner April 7, at the family's favorite restaurant.Sarah and Clinton spent a weeklong honeymoon on a Caribbean cruise to Belize, Honduras and Mexico. They make their home in San Antonio.Local family traveling to the wedding were Sarah's aunt and uncle, Bob and Lisa (Szuminski) Caputo, from Tamaqua.
