Eleven first-time offenders were placed in Carbon County’s Accelerated Rehabilitation Disposition probation program recently by President Judge Roger N. Nanovic II.

If a person successfully completes all conditions of the program their record is wiped clean. However, if they fail to complete the program, or are revoked from it, they would face trial on all pending charges. A person does not admit guilt in entering the program.

All were placed for a year, unless otherwise noted.

Andrew Derruk Burtaine, 28, of Bethlehem, was placed on a driving under the influence charge. He was arrested on April 24, 2016, along Bridge Street in Lehighton by state police at Lehighton. A test revealed the presence of a controlled substance.

He was assessed $600 for the cost of the program and his license was suspended for 60 days.

Brian Gabriel Canto, 20, of Bowmanstown, was placed on a charge of possession with intent to deliver a controlled substance — marijuana. He was arrested on July 23, 2016, by rangers at Beltzville State Park in Franklin Township in the area of “A” lot.

He was assessed $650 and must render 40 hours of community service.

Donna Lee Evert, 61, of Lehighton, was placed on a DUI charge. She was arrested on Aug. 6, 2016, along the Sgt. Stanley Hoffman Boulevard by Lehighton police. A test revealed the presence of a controlled substance.

She was assessed $600 and her license was suspended for 60 days.

Ashlie Ann Fry, 30, of Reading, was placed on a charge of persistent disorderly conduct. She was arrested on Sept. 30, 2016, at the The Inn at Jim Thorpe, 24 Broadway, by Jim Thorpe police.

She was assessed $450 and ordered to render 20 hours of community service and get a drug and alcohol evaluation and follow any recommendation for treatment.

Chad Edward Fry, 29, of Fleetwood, Berks County, was placed on a charge of persistent disorderly conduct. He was involved in the same incident with Ashlie Ann Fry.

He was assessed $450 and ordered to render 20 hours of community service and get a drug and alcohol evaluation and follow any recommendation for treatment.

Kristopher Mikel Green, 34, of Palmerton, was placed on a DUI charge. He was arrested on Feb. 23, 2016, along Bridge Street by Lehighton police. A test revealed a 0.22 BAC.

He was assessed $650 and his license suspended for 60 days and must make restitution in an amount to be determined by the adult probation office.

John P. Guth, 27, of Lehighton, was placed for six months on a charge of possession of a small amount of marijuana. He was arrested on March 26, 2016, along Delaware Avenue at Second Street in Palmerton by state police at Lehighton.

He was assessed $650 and must get a drug and alcohol evaluation.

Shanelle Wagner, 38, of Lansford, was placed on a charge of fraudulently obtaining food stamps and public assistance. She was arrested by the county district attorney’s office for receiving $2,313 in food stamps illegally and $1,000 in lower-income energy assistance funds.

She was assessed $450 and ordered to make restitution of $3,313.

Tonya Lynn Aliota, 42, of Lehighton, was placed on a DUI charge. She was arrested on Oct. 21, 2015, by state police at Lehighton in the Wildcreek Trail parking lot in Towamensing Township. A test revealed the presence of a controlled substance.

She was assessed $650 and ordered to get a mental health evaluation and her license was suspended for 60 days.

Katherine Elizabeth Ballenger, 29, of Palmerton, was placed for six months on a DUI charge. She was arrested on June 2, 2016, by state police at Lehighton along Forest Inn Road in Lower Towamensing Township. A test revealed a 0.09 BAC.

She was assessed $$50.

Matthew James Cebrosky, 25, of Lehighton, was placed on a DUI charge. He was arrested on July 2, 2016, along Route 248 in Franklin Township by state police at Lehighton. A test revealed a 0.08 BAC.

He was assessed $450.

Each defendant must also pay court costs of about $1,000 and a $50 per month supervision fee while in the program. Those charged with DUI must also follow all recommendations of their drug and alcohol evaluation.
