Tamaqua Police filed charges of driving under the influence of alcohol against Jaswinder Singh, 29, of 126 Center St., Tamaqua, after receiving the results of blood tests done on Dec. 15, 2016.

Singh was driving a Honda Accord with a Virginia license plate, heading south on Route 309 at 6:32 p.m. The Honda was being driven in an erratic manner and police made a traffic stop after the car turned left on to Biddle Street. Singh's breath had a strong odor of alcohol and three empty Bacardi bottles were found inside the Honda.Blood tests taken at a Pottsville Hospital show his blood alcohol level was 0.284 percent, more than three times the legal limit.He was also charged with careless driving.
