Allie Gerber, a senior at Tamaqua Area Senior High School, is the recipient of the 2017 Schuylkill County Chorus Festival Vocal Scholarship.

The $500 award is presented annually to a Schuylkill County senior student planning a career in music education or music performance.The daughter of Terry and Darlene Gerber of Tamaqua is planning to pursue a degree in music education at either West Chester, Temple or Penn State University. The award was presented by the Schuylkill County Choral Directors Association.
