Master gardeners offer workshops

The Carbon County Penn State Master Gardeners are again presenting "It's Time to Plant" workshops on March 25 and April 8 at the Carbon County Environmental Education Center, 151 East White Bear Drive, Summit Hill.

Workshops will run from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m.Different subjects will be covered at each workshop.On March 25, experts will talk about raised beds, row covers and low tunnels and do a planting workshop on starting seeds indoors for transplant after frost date.On April 8, the presentation will cover composting and soils, managing rainfall in a time of drought and extreme storms, managing pests and pathogens using organic methods, and a hands-on seed planting workshop that will include crops that can be planted outdoors in April.Registration is limited. Cost is $10 per person, per day.Bring a bag lunch, drinks will be provided.Pre-registration and payment is required by March 20.For more information or to register, visit
