School bus stop incident investigated

Pocono Mountain Regional police are investigating an incident at a school bus stop in Monroe County.

Police said on Tuesday around 11 a.m. officers responded to an address along Route 191 in Barrett Township. On scene, the mother of an 11-year-old boy stated that earlier a white man stopped where her son was waiting for a school bus. The man got out of the vehicle and opened the back door and then asked the juvenile if he needed an umbrella and said he had one in the vehicle the boy could use.The man was described as being about 5 feet, 6 inches tall with a reflective safety coat and a camouflage baseball hat. He was driving an older model SUV, possibly a GMC or Chevrolet. The vehicle was last seen on Route 191 north.Anyone who may have witnessed the vehicle or has any information concerning this incident is asked to call police at 570-895-2400.
