Palmerton girls basketball coach Ralph Andrews has one specific drill his team does at the end of every practice.

Monday night, that drill paid dividends in an exciting 47-43 Colonial League victory over Northern Lehigh."We do a free throw drill where the girls shoot a one-and-one," Andrews said. "If they miss the first one, they run a suicide. If they miss the second one, it's an up-and-back. So, we really put a lot of pressure on foul shots. It's not the quantity, it's the pressure we put on them."We knew coming into this game that we would have to get to the foul line more than them and we did - and we were able to knock them down tonight."The Bombers handled the late-game foul shooting pressure perfectly.After Jill Olewine hit both of her free throws to pull Northern Lehigh to within 39-38 with 1:23 remaining, the Bombers scored all of their remaining points from the same spot where every one of their practices ends - the foul line.The Bombers' Linnaea Leister and Paige Frantz combined to go a perfect eight-for-eight from the line in the waning moments."We practice free throws a lot, and obviously, that's a main part of the game," said Leister, who made her final six free throws after going one-for-three prior to that. "We knew that coming down to the end of the game that we had to make them in order to get the victory."The clutch performance at the line by Leister and Frantz helped the Bombers build a 45-38 lead with 37 left.The Bulldogs refused to quit as Karlyna Kemery nailed a jumper and, seconds later, Olewine stole the ball on an inbounds play and laid the ball in while being fouled. When Olewine hit her free throw attempt to complete the three-point play and pull the Bulldogs to within 45-43.But Leister denied the Northern Lehigh comeback bid as she was fouled again and converted a pair with 16 remaining to cap her game-high 21-point night and seal the victory."Every girl, every practice, every game, our kids play hard," Northern Lehigh coach Ken Schankweiler said about the way his team battled down the stretch "They're not going to quit.
