Tamaqua drug charges

Tamaqua police released information on several recent cases involving illegal drugs.

• Logan Sytnik, 18, of Morrisville and Caitlyn Umek, 18, of Levittown, were charged with possession of marijuana after a traffic stop on Aug. 6.• Matthew Sargent, 22, and Joseph "Junior" Nortavage, 20, both of Tamaqua, were cited for possession of marijuana after a traffic stop on Aug. 12.• Dustin P. Oncay, 33, of Tamaqua, was charged with possession of a controlled substance, possession of drug paraphernalia and receiving stolen property after an incident on Aug. 18 involving a stolen vehicle from Lansford.Officers were advised to be on the lookout for a silver Pontiac, reported as stolen by Lansford police. An officer spotted the vehicle at 9:46 p.m., at the gas pumps at a local mini mart. Oncay was in the driver's seat. While waiting for Lansford Police, officers discovered a bottle of urine, 18 small blue pills, 44 empty wax paper baggies and 11 wax baggies containing a powder that tested positive for heroin. Oncay admitted the pills were Percocet tablets.Oncay was turned over to Lansford police.
