A Marine veteran from Nesquehoning has been missing for about a month, according to police.

John Charles Malchon, 49, was last seen on July 16 at a neighbor’s house, and may have been spotted later that day walking toward the railroad tracks behind his home on East Catawissa Street.He is described as a white man with brown eyes and shaved brown hair. He is between 5-foot-9 and 6 feet tall, weighing between 260-300 pounds.He has a U.S. Marine Corps tattoo on each arm.He was last seen wearing a black T-shirt, black nylon shorts, white socks and white sneakers.Malchon wears glasses, but it’s unknown whether he had them at the time when he disappeared.According to a social media post from a relative, Malchon’s phone was pinged in the Blue Pond area of the borough a few days after he disappeared. There was another reported sighting on Loggie Road about two weeks ago.
