Petal Pushers shop has grand opening

After nearly two decades of running a floral company as a side business out of a house, Kathy Schock chose to retire from her job as an office manager at Lehigh Valley Physician Group to pursue her passion for floral design full time.

Along with her husband and co-owner, Joel Essington, they opened Petal Pushers floral company in December at Hometown Village Square in Rush Township.On April 7, Petal Pushers celebrated its grand opening with the Tamaqua Area Chamber of Commerce, and held a ribbon cutting ceremony.Petal Pushers specializes in unusual fresh flowers for any occasion including weddings, anniversaries, funerals, formals and birthdays. The shop also offers handmade wreaths, home décor, balloons and houseplants.Petal Pushers is a full-service floral shop, with delivery in the Tamaqua, Barnesville, Schuylkill Township, Walker Township, Lake Hauto and Panther Valley areas.Hours are 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday through Friday, and 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday.For more information, visit
