McAdoo arrests reported

A number of motorists face criminal charges after traffic stops in McAdoo.

• Pedro Acevedo, 69, of Reading was stopped at 12:48 a.m. for failing to lower his high beams to oncoming traffic. A strong odor of alcohol on his breath led to field sobriety tests, which he was unable to complete due to a language barrier. A portable breath test indicated his blood alcohol content was 0.145 percent.He refused a blood test and was cited for driving under the influence of alcohol in addition to the traffic citation.A 17-year-old male from Drums was cited for driving under the influence of a controlled substance and for having a nonworking taillight after a traffic stop at 11:33 p.m. on Feb. 17.He admitted to smoking marijuana earlier in the day and failed field sobriety tests.• Katherine Elliott, 32, of Lansford, was stopped for a burned-out headlight at 10:23 p.m. on Feb. 26. She admitted to smoking marijuana earlier in the day and failed field sobriety tests. She was also found to have a bag of marijuana in her bra. There were three children under the age of 9 in the car at the time.Blood tests revealed marijuana in her system. She was charged with driving under the influence of a controlled substance, possession of marijuana and possession of drug paraphernalia as well as the traffic citation.• Tiffany Yeick, 42, of Freeland, was stopped at 7:47 p.m. on Feb. 24 for having tires that extended beyond the frame of her vehicle. After noticing a strong odor of marijuana in the car, officers searched the vehicle and found several full and partially smoked joints in an ashtray.She was charged with possession of marijuana and possession of drug paraphernalia.Two Allentown men were cited after police stopped a car for speeding at 2:52 a.m. on Feb. 22.• Trevor Seagraves, 18, and Tucker Kuhlman, 19, were cited after police found marijuana, a bong and a scale in the vehicle.Both were cited for possession of marijuana and possession of drug paraphernalia.Seagraves, the driver, was also cited for speeding.In a nontraffic related case, Tatiana Maldonado, 33, of McAdoo, was cited for simple assault and harassment after a domestic dispute on April 1.
