Police investigate harassment incidents

Police are investigating the following incidents:

• Tamaqua police have requested a warrant for the arrest of Todd M. Benner, 22, of Bowe Street, Tamaqua, in connection with a domestic assault on Sept. 15.Officers were called to Benner's home at 3 a.m. where they met with the female victim, who had visible signs of being struck on her mouth. She told officers that the couple was arguing when he pushed her, then punched her, breaking the skin on her lips. She refused medical treatment offered by Tamaqua ambulance personnel.Benner had fled the home before officers arrived. He faces charges of simple assault and harassment.• Tamaqua police have cited Tricia Wyman, 28, of Washington Street, Tamaqua, for an incident in the parking lot at District Judge Stephen Bayer's office on Sept. 15.Wyman was arguing with two other people causing a disturbance at 2:13 p.m. The three participants disagreed on the sequence of events, but a review of security cameras showed Wyman shoving another woman up against a vehicle and throwing an iced tea bottle at a man. She left the bottle on the ground where it landed.She was cited for disorderly conduct and littering.• Tamaqua police have cited a 16-year-old Tamaqua girl for fighting on Sept. 16.The victim, also a 16-year-old girl, told officers she was walking home from a football game that evening, when the other teen attacked her in the area of Penn and Oak streets. The victim had a large bruise on her forehead and injuries to her right knee and elbow. She and her mother said they would seek private medical attention if they felt it was necessary.The assailant was charged with harassment.• State police at Lehighton are investigating an incident of harassment in Lower Towamensing Township that was reported at 6 p.m. Aug. 31.Police said the incident happened in the 1000 block of Fireline Road. The victim is a 28-year-old woman from Kunkletown and the suspect is a 36-year-old man from Slatington.Police said they were told they were involved in a verbal argument that turned physical.• State police at Lehighton responded to a reported harassment at 3:53 a.m. Aug. 31 at 120 Jamestown St., Mahoning Township.Police said a 43-year-old Lehighton man is the victim in the case. He was harassed by a woman, also from Lehighton.Police said the two engaged in a verbal and physical argument.• State police at Lehighton were called to the Riverwalck Saloon, 101 Centre St., Parrvyille, at 11:54 p.m. Sept. 24 to investigate an incident of harassment.Police said the victim is a 35-year-old man from Parryville.Police said he and an unknown suspect became engaged in a verbal argument that turned physical when the suspect punched the victim in the left side of his face.Police said he left the scene in a gray-colored Ford pickup.
