Francis and Maryann Karnish wed 50 years

Francis and Maryann Karnish of Lansford are celebrating their 50th wedding anniversary. They were married on Sept. 10, 1966, in the former SS. Peter & Paul Church, Lansford, by the late Rev. Stanislaus Fronczek.

Mrs. Karnish is the former Maryann Mikulski, daughter of the late Joseph and Nellie Mikulski of Andrewsville, Mr. Karnish is the son of the late John and Josephine Karnish of Lansford.Mr. Karnish is an Air Force veteran and retired from the U.S. Postal Service in 1998 after 35 years, last serving as Lansford postmaster. He also retired from KME, Nesquehoning, after 16 years in June 2015.Mr. and Mrs. Karnish are travel coordinators for the Panther Valley Golden Age Travel Club.They are parents of four sons: Frank and his wife Sara of Summit Hill, Christopher and his wife Sara of Barnesville, Matthew and his wife Jennifer of Fleetwood and Jason and his wife Amy of Jim Thorpe.They have eight grandchildren: Thad and Holden of Summit Hill, Noah and Lucas of Barnesville, Jacob and Carly of Blandon and Jaxson and Emelia of Jim Thorpe.The couple marked the occasion with an anniversary Mass celebrated by the Rev. Stephen J. Halabura at St. Joseph Church of the Panther Valley. Following the Mass, their family hosted a party in their honor for family and friends at the home of Jason and Amy.
