Following a recall by Kellogg Company, Giant Food Stores has removed from sale Eggo Nutri-Grain Whole Wheat Waffles (2.3 oz.; 10-ct Carton; UPC 3800040370; with best before dates of Nov. 21 and 22, 2017) due to the potential to be contaminated with Listeria monocytogenes.

Listeria is a common organism found in nature. Consumption of food contaminated with Listeria monocytogenes can cause listeriosis, an uncommon but potentially fatal disease. Healthy people rarely contract listeriosis. However, listeriosis can cause high fever, severe headache, neck stiffness and nausea.
