Freezing rain could make slick commute Thursday

The National Weather Service in Mount Holly has issued a freezing rain advisory in effect from 2 am to 11 am Thursday.

Ice accumulations around a trace to a few hundredths of an inch of rain expected.

Light freezing rain will develop in the late night hours tonight and will continue through Thursday morning.

Travel will be treacherous as roads and walkways will be slippery. Be sure to use caution and leave plenty of time for travel in the morning.

Temperatures will be in the low 30s.

Rain likely, mainly before 11pm. Cloudy, with a low around 42. Southeast wind 6 to 10 mph becoming west after midnight. Winds could gust as high as 20 mph. Chance of precipitation is 70%. New precipitation amounts between a tenth and quarter of an inch possible.

Partly sunny, with a high near 52. Northwest wind 13 to 16 mph, with gusts as high as 29 mph.
