Burglary, theft incidents reported

State police are investigating burglaries and a theft incident.

• The break-in occurred at an American Water Co. of Nazareth, building located along Route 115 in Ross Commons, Ross Township. The vacant building was entered by a garage panel being pushed in. The intruders then left through the front door. Nothing was reported stolen in the incident, which occurred sometime overnight on Thursday into Friday.• A Scranton man reported someone removed his blue Jansport backpack from a residence on White Street in Weissport. The incident was reported at 10:45 a.m. Thursday.• A safe at a Monroe County business was broken open and a large amount of cash was stolen during a burglary.State police at Fern Ridge said the break-in occurred at the Dollar Tree, located along Route 209 in Brodheadsville, Chestnuthill Township. Troopers said the store was entered through a rear door and the door safe removed. Taken was $1,000 in cash from inside the safe.The incident occurred sometime between 9:20 p.m. Oct. 4 and 8:10 a.m. Oct. 5.• State police at the Fern Ridge barracks are investigating a theft reported at 11 a.m. Oct. 2.Police said the incident happened at 1409 Twin Pine Road in the township when someone removed a shed containing a bicycle, table saw and wood stove from a recently sold "as is" property.• State police at the Fern Ridge barracks are investigating the theft of a wallet from a unlocked car that was parked in Chestnuthill Township between 11:20 p.m. Oct. 1 and 1 p.m. Oct. 2.The incident happened at 2004 Paradise Drive.
