Holiday checkpoint yields 15 arrests, 24 citations

Pennsylvania State Police Troopers caught a hefty number of arrests in Penn Forest township during a five-hour period last Wednesday.

Situated on Maury Road, just south of Route 903, the troopers ran a stationary DUI checkpoint "in an effort to reduce injury and death related impaired crashes."Between 3 and 8 p.m., five drivers were arrested on DUI charges, and 10 people were arrested on misdemeanor drug possession charges. The state troopers also issued 24 traffic citations at the checkpoint.
