Police make drug arrest, cite 18 after rave party

One person was charged and 18 others were cited following a rave party at an area resort this weekend.

Kidder Township Police Department said that Kaylan Jones, 19, of Chicago, was arrested Saturday at Split Rock Resort during a Ray-Ban Boiler Room Event.

While the officer was attempting to take Jones into custody, she resisted arrest.

Jones was taken to the Kidder Township Police Station, where she caused damage to the bathroom in the township building.

She was charged with possession of a small amount of marijuana, possession of a controlled substance, resisting arrest, false identification to law enforcement, and institutional vandalism.

Jones was taken to Carbon County Correctional Facility in lieu of $50,000 bail 10 percent.

During her arrest, a large crowd gathered near the entrance to Town Center of Split Rock, and additional officers throughout the county responded to assist.

It was decided between township police and staff at Split Rock that the event would be shut down for the safety of all guests and performers.

A comment was posted on the Boiler Room website, “We don’t have the exact details of what transpired, but for the safety of all our artists and guests we had to shutdown.”

Eighteen others were cited for disorderly conduct.
