Palmerton UVO hosts annual Veterans Day Parade

The Carbon County Veterans Council have released a lineup for Sunday's Veterans Day Parade in Palmerton.

Hosted by the Palmerton United Veterans Organization, which consists of American Legion Post 269 and Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 7134, the parade will include six divisions of veterans' groups, police departments, fire companies, social clubs, local businesses, politicians and more.Sgt. Maj. of the Army Daniel Dailey will serve as the grand marshal of the parade, and will also be participating in the flagpole dedication earlier in the day. A Palmerton native, Dailey has been part of the Army since 1989, serving four tours during Operations Iraqi Freedom and New Dawn, as well as deploying in support of Operations Desert Storm and Desert Shield. He has been awarded numerous accolades, including the Bronze Star with Valor.Parade participants will be required to register at George's Busing Garage at 650 Delaware Ave. Lineups will form at their designated starting locations at 12:30 p.m., with all participants in place by 1:30 p.m. The parade will commence at 1:45 p.m.The parade will begin at Seventh Street and Lafayette Avenue, go down to Third Street, then to Delaware Avenue, and end on Seventh Street. All parade participants and volunteers are welcome to complimentary refreshments at Aquashicola Volunteer Fire Company, 270 Little Gap Road, following the event.A reviewing stand will be located at Palmerton Borough Hall on Delaware Avenue, where children can get a free American flag, while supplies last.Division oneDivision one will line up from Sixth Street to Seventh Street on the right side of Lafayette Avenue, and include Palmerton Police Chief Randy Smith and Mayor Chris Olivia; the Pennsylvania State Police Mounted Section; the Palmerton United Veterans Color Guard; grand marshal Sgt.
