Mahoning police report

Mahoning Township Police Department reports the following incidents:

• On Oct. 1, police received a report of ethnic intimidation at Walmart from Yolanda Medina, 53, of Palmerton.The incident was reported to have occurred on Sept. 30. As a result of the investigation, Medina has been charged with unsworn falsification to authorities, and false reports to law enforcement authorities. A preliminary hearing is scheduled for 2:15 p.m. Nov. 16.• At 11:27 a.m. Oct. 1, police received a report of an erratic driver on Route 443.The vehicle passed cars in a no-passing area and later entered the Carbon Plaza Mall lot, with 911 callers indicating it nearly struck another vehicle, and several parked cars.As a result, 911 callers blocked the vehicle in preventing it from moving, with one of the callers reported being spit on by the driver of the vehicle.During the investigation, police seized marijuana.The driver of the vehicle, Linette Lesher, 37, of Jim Thorpe, has been charged with possession of marijuana, possession of drug paraphernalia, harassment, disorderly conduct, and careless driving.A preliminary hearing is scheduled for 2:45 p.m. Nov. 16.• At 3 p.m. Aug. 28, a police officer traveling on Upper Nis Hollow Drive swerved to avoid an oncoming vehicle that had crossed into his lane.The vehicle was stopped, and the driver Alainna Bunch, 37, of Lehighton, has been charged with driving under the influence of alcohol or a controlled substance, driving on right side of roadway, and careless driving. A preliminary hearing is scheduled for 2:30 p.m. Nov. 16.
