Weatherly Area High School has announced its guest speaker for the Class of 2016's upcoming graduation.

Mark T. Murmello, who graduated as the valedictorian from Weatherly Area High School in 1992, will address the class during graduation at 7 p.m. June 3 in the middle school gymnasium.Murmello is the son of Budd and Donna Murmello of Weatherly.Following graduation, he attended Lafayette College and graduated with a bachelor of science degree in chemical engineering in 1996. He went received a master of business administration degree from Wilkes University and was inducted into the Delta Mu Delta Academic Honor Society.He began his career as a process design engineer specializing in poorly water soluble pharmaceuticals. He has worked for various pharmaceutical companies and engineering firms, holding positions in process and facility design, and project management.Currently, he is deputy director, pharmaceutical technology, at the vaccine manufacturer Sanofi Pasteur in Swiftwater. His focus is on development of manufacturing processes for new vaccines and site-to-site transfer of global manufacturing and testing practices.Murmello lives in the Poconos with his wife, Kerry. They have a son, Austin.
