Carbon County officials named an acting director of the county's domestic relations department.

On Thursday, the Carbon County commissioners approved the status change of Pierre J. Guichardan of Drums from the assistant director in the department to acting director, effective Monday. He will fill the vacancy created after Mary Kunkel, the director for the last 38 years, passed away on April 8.The county salary board, during its monthly meeting that same day, also set the salary for Guichardan's new position at $25.32 per hour, also effective Monday.Other businessIn other salary matters, the salary board approved the following items:• Change the rate of one part-time corrections officer from $11.26 per hour to $11.59 per hour, effective June 1.• Change the rate of one administrative secretary in the tax claim bureau from $16.66 per hour to $17.16 per hour, effective May 11.• Change the rate of one administrative secretary in the tax claim bureau from $17.16 per hour to $15.71 per hour, effective May 16.• Change the rate of one seasonal park ranger II from $9.72 per hour to $10.01 per hour, effective May 5.
