The engagement of Emily Lienhard of Easton to Matthew Sweitzer of Nazareth has been announced by her parents.

The bride-to-be is the daughter of Teresa and Eugene Lienhard of Easton. She has an associate degree from Northampton Community College in culinary arts, and a bachelor's degree in elementary education from East Stroudsburg University. She is employed as a teacher at Lightbridge Academy in Bethlehem Township.The prospective bridegroom is the son of Marianne and Robert Sweitzer of Nazareth. He has a bachelor's degree from The Culinary Institute of America in professional studies with a concentration in baking and pastry arts. He is employed as an executive chef at Moravian Hall Square in Nazareth.The couple has family in the Jim Thorpe area.A wedding is planned for October 2017.
