Warriors enjoying success

The Valley Regional Warriors 16u girls fast pitch travel softball team will head to the upcoming USSSA Eastern National Championships tournament in East Hartford, Connecticut, on a high note, as the team earned its third first-place finish of the season in the USSSA Extreme Summer Heat World Series Qualifier this past weekend at Veteran's Memorial Park in Quakertown.

The team was the seventh seed after pool play, but earned three wins to meet No. 1 and previously unbeaten Morris County, New Jersey, in the title game.Down 2-1 in the top of the seventh inning, the Warriors scored and held on to force an International Tie Breaker eighth inning.The Warriors plated the go-ahead run in the top of the eighth and survived a bases loaded jam in the bottom of the inning to secure a 3-2 win.
