Mr. & Mrs. Robert F. Balliet Sr., formerly of Carbon County and now living in Holiday, Florida, recently celebrated their 70th wedding anniversary.

They were married June 29, 1946, at St. John's Towamensing Lutheran in Palmerton.Mrs. Balliet is the former Phyllis Andrews, daughter of the late Hilda and Morris Andrews of Palmerton. Her husband is the son of the late Luella and Edwin Balliet of Lehighton.The Balliets have two children: Robert Jr., and his wife, Barbara, of Spring Hill, Florida, and Susan Zimmerman, and her husband, Frank, of Palmerton.They have four grandchildren, three step-grandchildren, three great-grandchildren and three step-great-grandchildren.In honor of the occasion, their children treated them to a celebratory lunch.
