State police took a man into custody Monday morning after a fire at a home was determined to be caused by making meth.

Emergency personnel were called to 6719 Madison street in New Tripoli just before 7:30 a.m. when neighbors reported flames showing and heavy smoke billowing from the dwelling.

After the fire was brought under control, state police took 32-year old William Riegel into custody for manufacturing meth.

The home was the scene of a raid conducted by the Lehigh county drug task force last November at which Alfred N. Zotter III was arrested for operating a meth lab.
