Tamaqua police have filed charges against Corey Lynn Matalavage after a reported overdose on Jan. 7.

Officers and medical personnel were dispatched to Matalavage's apartment at 305 W. Broad St. at 6:56 p.m. They were initially given the wrong address, 504 W. Broad St., but the Schuylkill County Communications Center was able to get the right address from the caller.As officers arrived, Matalavage left the building, stumbling around, appearing disoriented. At first, she said she didn't know what kind of drug she took, but later said it was some type of "speed."At one point, she dropped her purse, which opened, scattering syringe caps, white wax paper, several pills and an uncapped syringe.Medical personnel provided treatment.She was with possession of drug paraphernalia.
