FRANKLIN TOWNSHIP SUPERVISORS

Franklin Township supervisors took the following action on Tuesday:

• Appointed Christine Green as assistant secretary-treasurer.

• Announced the township is looking to fill a vacancy on its zoning hearing board.

• Approved a request from the Pohopoco Rod and Gun Club and Franklin Township Lions Club to limit fishing in the primary Phifer Ice Dam for a 30-day period from May 9 until 12 a.m. June 8 to people under the age of 16.

• Announced the 10th annual Pohopoco Rod and Gun Club Youth Fish Day will be held from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. May 17.

• Authorized Green to endorse checks in the absence of the secretary-treasurer.

• Awarded bids for 10,000 gallons of low sulfur diesel fuel and 6,000 gallons of heating oil to George’s Plumbing and Heating LLC.

• Agreed to rebid 10,000 gallons 87 Octane No/Lead Gasoline at-the-pump.

• Approved the setting of travel allowance (IRS standard business mileage at 57.5 cents.

• Agreed to look into companies for quotes for online payments.

• Reminded residents to not plow/shovel snow onto township roadways.

• An electronic recycling event will be held from 9 a.m. to noon April 4.
