Carbon salary board

Carbon County officials approved a number of personnel items, but one motion made in the clerk of courts office died for lack of a second.

On Thursday, the county salary board stayed mum on a request, made by Clerk of Courts William McGinley, to name the second deputy as his first deputy at an annual salary of $36,472.80.

Commissioners’ Chairman Wayne Nothstein told McGinley to schedule an executive session with the board to further discuss the matter.

He said the board will recess the salary board meeting until next Thursday so McGinley’s request could be addressed.

Following the meeting, the commissioners said that they would not comment on the lack of a second at this time.
