Fee requests yielded no reports

Four local municipalities said they had no record of paying lawyers to deny Right-to-Know requests during 2015.

The Times News asked four municipalities to provide any legal bills they paid for cases where they denied a request under the Right to Know Law.All of the municipalities responded quickly to the requests, but said they had no information to turn over.Tamaqua's borough manager told a reporter that the borough has never hired an outside firm to deal with Right-to-Know requests.Penn Forest Township in Carbon County denied the request because its secretary said that none of the legal bills specified that they were for Right-to-Know requests.West Penn Township, Schuylkill County, responded by saying the records did not exist as requested.The secretary for Eldred Township, Monroe County, sent an email saying she was unaware of any such bills.
