John L. Smith II, 27, of Lansford, was cited by Tamaqua Police on July 24.
Officers received a call at 7:18 p.m. about a suspicious man, wearing a red tank top and black shorts, who was seen removing something from one of the train cars located in the area of the Tamaqua Train Station.The man placed the item in the waistband of his shorts.When officers arrived, they found Smith, who matched the description. He appeared nervous and didn't have an explanation for why he was in the area.When asked if he had any weapons or anything illegal, he admitted having two hypodermic needles in his waist band.officers found the needles, wrapped in a red bandanna, in Smith's shorts.He was cited for possession of drug paraphernalia.
