New group formed: Homeowners Against Land Takings

Save Carbon County will hold a meeting of Carbon County landowners affected by the PennEast/UGI pipeline.

The meeting will be held at 7 p.m. Thursday at the Towamensing Fire Department,105 Fire House Rd., near the intersection of Route 209 and Trachsville Hill Road.Featured on the agenda will be two speakers from Homeowners Against Land Taking or HALT. The goal of HALT is to “Stop PennEast Cold.”HALT is a newly formed group and has a focused approach. Members of HALT are pooling resources and have hired a world-class legal team that will create and implement a multi-point legal strategy to stop the pipeline. Heading that team is lead attorney, Steve Richardson from Wiley Rein. Richardson is a seasoned leader in the field of complex regulatory and environmental law, and his firm is a highly respected, well-known, and a successful top-tier Washington D.C. firm.The meeting will also feature information for landowners about easements, and attorneys from the Lavery Law Firm of Harrisburg will be available to answer questions.
