Palmerton gas station robbed

An armed robbery at a gas station in Palmerton Tuesday night remains under investigation.

The incident occurred at around 8:54 p.m. at Pereira's Gulf Station, 117 Delaware Ave., according to a news release issued this morning by the Palmerton Police Department.At that time, police said an unknown suspect approached the gas station attendant and held a plastic object to his throat and said, "Give me your money or I'll kill you."The attendant complied, and gave the man about $250 in cash.The suspect then fled across Delaware Avenue.The suspect is described as a white male, about 6 feet tall, weighing approximately 180-190 pounds, in his early 20s. He was wearing a black jacket, a black mask that covered his face from the nose down, bluejeans, possibly boots and a white beanie.There were no injuries.Also assisting at the scene were State Police Lehighton, Franklin Township Police, Lehigh Township Police, Slatington Police and Walnutport Police.Anyone with information is asked to contact the Palmerton Police Department at 610-826-4055.
