Game commission: Hanover eagle egg probably won't hatch

As the remaining egg on the ‪#‎PGCeaglecam‬ has not hatched in Hanover, the Pennsylvania Game Commission said this morning that is unlikely that it is viable.

"There are many factors that can influence the success of a nest. We do not know what caused the nesting failure in this specific instance," the commission posted on Facebook.

"We do know that the eagles using the Hanover nest have produced successful young during many past years, and that they have had nest failures in other years. This is not an uncommon occurrence for raptors, nor for wildlife species in general. "

One eaglet hatched Monday but it died two days later.

Last year the couple raised two eaglets.
