Various charges are pending against a Tobyhanna man who crashed his vehicle at 6:55 a.m. Sept. 19 on Route 196, in front of the Pocono Country Place Gate K in Monroe County.

Pocono Mountain Regional Police said Thomas Amaro, 34, was driving south when he lost control of his vehicle. It exited the left side of the road and struck an embankment, rocks and multiple trees before coming to a final rest.Police said he was transported to the Pocono Medical Center, East Stroudsburg, by the Pocono Mountain Regional EMS, for treatment of injuries he sustained in the crash.Charges of driving under the influence against Amaro are pending the result of toxicology tests taken at the hospital. He will also be cited for careless driving and failure to drive at a safe speed.
