State police at the Fern Ridge barracks are investigating a burglary that was reported on Aug. 22 at a residence in Chestnuthill Township, Monroe County.

The victim is a 44-year-old woman who lives on Shenkel Road in Effort.Police said someone arrived at her back yard on an ATV and stood on the basement door of her residence while forcing open a window screen with a prying tool.The suspect proceeded to walk through the residence and stole a clear plastic bag containing $32 in cash before fleeing the scene on the ATV.
