A Schuylkill County man was arrested on Tuesday for violating a protection from abuse order and later jailed.

State police at Frackville said Thomas John Roberts, 28, of Pottsville, was served the PFA order on Sept. 25 which prohibited him from contacting a 28-year-old female from Cass Township. Roberts violated the order by sending multiple text messages to the female on Tuesday.He was arrested on a charge of indirect criminal contempt and arraigned before District Judge James Ferrier of Orwigsburg. Bail was set at $5,000 straight cash. He was unable to post the bail and was committed to the county prison in Pottsville.
