McAdoo fire damages apartment building

The third fire in four days struck eastern Schuylkill County early today.

Firefighters were dispatched shortly after 8 a.m. Wednesday to a reported working structure fire at 210 W. Sherman St. in McAdoo.

Arriving on scene, responders found smoke pouring from the second floor windows of an unoccupied eight-unit apartment building at 204-214 W. Sherman.

The fire was concentrated on units at 206 and 208.

Firefighters had the blaze under control within several minutes.

Neighbors remarked that the fire was the fourth such incident at that location, the most recent taking place about one month ago at 214, where previous fire damage was clearly visible at the second story facade.

According to courthouse records, the two-story, wood-frame building is owned by Roman Wilfred of Jackson Heights, New York.

Responding were fire companies from Tresckow and McAdoo.
