Carbon man jailed after chase

A Carbon County man was jailed following a high-speed chase that occurred early Sunday morning.

State police at Fern Ridge said troopers observed a 2008 Honda Civic speeding on Route 903 in Kidder Township at 1:57 a.m. Troopers attempted to stop the speeding vehicle but the driver continued to flee despite the emergency lights and siren of the state police cruiser being activated.The driver fled onto Route 534 with speeds reaching over 100 mph and he was traveling in the wrong lane. The vehicle turned into the Holiday Poconos development and into a driveway where the driver was taken into custody.He was identified as Joshua Michael Dean, 24, of 57 Redwood Drive, Albrightsville. He was charged with a felony count of fleeing or attempting to elude police, and other counts of recklessly endangering another person, driving under the influence and well as several summary traffic violations.He was placed in the county prison in Nesquehoning pending arraignment.
