Tamaqua man waives hearing

A Tamaqua area man suspected of operating a mobile methamphetamine lab waived his right to a preliminary hearing before District Judge Stephen Bayer of Tamaqua, last week.

Justin D. Pakosky, 27, of 68 River Road, was charged with manufacture of methamphetamine, possession of methamphetamine, operating a methamphetamine lab and possession of drug paraphernalia by Rush Township Patrolman Adam Sinton. The charges stem from a March 24 incident when police and firefighters responded to what they thought was a car fire along Claremont Avenue (Route 309) and instead found a mobile meth lab.Bail was originally set at 10 percent of $50,000, but was modified on April 10 to 10 percent of $5,000, which Pakosky was able to post.A number of other drug related cases were also scheduled to be heard by Bayer last week.Nicholas B. Hux, 19, of 18 Maple Ave., Barnesville, waived a hearing on charges of possession of a controlled substance and possession of drug paraphernalia related to a March 11 incident in Rush Township. A charge of manufacture with intent to deliver a controlled substance was withdrawn by the arresting officer, Rush Township Sgt. Duane Frederick.Hux was released on $25,000 unsecured bail.Brandon Caleb Minnich, 20, of 310 Oak St. Walnutport, waived a hearing on charges of possession of marijuana and possession of drug paraphernalia. The charges were filed by Coaldale Patrolman Joseph Krebs after a Feb. 28 incident.Minnich was released on his own recognizance.Kyle Conklin, 18, of 242 S. Walnut St., Slatington, waived a hearing on charges of possession of marijuana and possession of drug paraphernalia. The charges stem from a Feb. 28 incident and were filed by Coaldale Patrolman Joseph Krebs.Conklin was released on his own recognizance.Zachary A. Rossi, 30, waived his hearing on charges of possession of drug paraphernalia and driving with a suspended license, filed after a Feb. 20 incident. The arresting officer was Tamaqua Patrolman Matthew Houser.Rossi was released on his own recognizance.Violet M. Lech, 55, of 51 N. Kennedy Drive, McAdoo, was charged with two felony counts of manufacture/possession of a controlled substance with intent to deliver, possession of a controlled substance and possession of drug paraphernalia. All of the charges, which were filed by McAdoo Patrolman William Curilla, were bound over for court trial following her preliminary hearing. The charges stem from a Nov. 22, 2014 incident.Lech was released on $25,000 unsecured bail.Sarina Gillott, 25, of 9A Valley St., Brockton, waived her hearing on a charge of making a false report, incriminating another person. She was charged by State Trooper Thomas Powell following a Feb. 10 incident.Gillott was released on her own recognizance.Ashley M. Sist, 29, of 27 N. Manning St., McAdoo, elected to go through with her preliminary hearing. She was charged with unauthorized use of a motor vehicle by McAdoo Patrolman Lucas Fox after a Jan. 10 incident. The charge was bound over for court.Sist was released on her own recognizance.Jonathan Evanco, 21, of 27 E. Monroe St., McAdoo, failed to appear in court for his hearing on charges of retail theft and possession of drug paraphernalia. The charges were filed by Kline Township Patrolman Justin Farley after a Jan. 14 incident.A warrant for failure to appear could be issued for his arrest.
