Two cited after drugs are found

Two people will be cited after an incident in Tamaqua on April 10.

Tamaqua and Coaldale police were working together at 3 p.m., investigating a lead from a burglary committed in Coaldale during the first week of April.Officers went to 430 Hazle St. in Tamaqua to speak with Crystal Clymer, who had been with burglary suspect Joseph Becker on the day the crime was committed.Clymer agreed to speak with police and allowed them to conduct a search of the house. She denied any involvement in the burglary, saying she had just given Becker a ride that day. As officers searched the home they found a box containing suspected marijuana in a bedside table drawer. Clymer admitted the baggies were her property.They also found Michael A. Leiby, 29, of 224 First St., Coaldale. Leiby had a pair of sweatpants in his hands, then tried to nudge the clothing under a bed on the second floor. Leiby denied ownership of the pants. The pants pockets contained a bundle of wax paper packages, a rolled-up paper containing unknown pills and Leiby's driver's license.Both will be charged with possession of a controlled substance, pending lab test results.
