Wanted Coaldale man caught

A Coaldale man was picked up on an active arrest warrant April 24, despite his best efforts to avoid authorities. In the process, he earned several more criminal charges.

Coaldale police were assisting the Schuylkill County Adult Probation Office at 2:50 p.m. attempting to arrest Trevor Christman, 21, of 223 E. Elm St. Officials had a tip that Christman could be located at 274 Third St., but had already left by the time they arrived.Officers were then directed to 208 E. High St., where they were advised he could possibly be in the basement.As officers were invited into the home, Christman ran out the back door, fleeing toward a wooded embankment. When the suspect refused to stop a Tamaqua police officer used a stun gun, bringing the chase to an end.A weapons search was conducted and a clear/orange syringe was removed from his right pocket.Probation officials transported him to the Schuylkill County Prison in Pottsville. Coaldale police have filed charges of resisting arrest, escape and possession of drug paraphernalia.
