Grant applications available

The Carbon County Interagency and Family Collaborative Board Is accepting applications for a $500 Social Services Grant. Applications are due no later than March 27.

This grant is open to all agencies that meet the guidelines of the agency's mission statement and who serve any population of Carbon County. The board's mission statement is to "be an advocate to all populations, including children, families, adults and aging community members" as well as a "forum to reform, educate and coordinate services for the benefit of our community ... and nurture the positive and combat the negative trends affecting citizens of Carbon County."The grant can be used for any existing programs or any new programs that an agency may have, and is a one-time payment.To receive an application, email the IFCB at

mjg26@psu.edu or call the agency treasurer, Mindy Graver, at 570-325-2788 ext. 2. There is a $15 application fee due with the submission of the application to nonmembers of the IFCB. This fee will also serve as a one-year membership to the group. mjg26@psu.edu. Checks should be made payable to Interagency Council of Carbon County.Applications will be reviewed by an independent panel, separate from the IFCB. The grant recipient will be notified the week of April 13.The presentation of the grant will occur at the annual Human Services Priority Brunch to be held on April 17 at Whispering Pines, Penn Forest Fire Company No. 1.
