A Schuylkill County driver escaped injury after his vehicle crashed into a tree and then rolled over. The crash occurred about 12:05 a.m. today along Rausch Creek Road in Tremont Township, state police at Schuylkill Haven said.

Troopers said Jeffrey A. Updegrove, 50, of Pine Grove, was driving a 1995 Jeep Cherokee southbound and approaching a left curve in the road. He moved over into the northbound lane of travel to negotiate the curve.In doing so, troopers said, his Jeep entered the east berm and struck some snow.The Jeep traveled along the east berm through the snow for about 57 feet before impacting a tree with the left front.After impact with the tree the Jeep rolled over and came to rest on its passenger side facing north on the road. The Jeep had to be towed from the scene.Troopers said Updegrove was cited for the crash.
