If you're under 18 and live in Tamaqua, there is such a thing as a free lunch. The South Ward Playground Association's free Summer Lunch Program is in full swing and will continue until it's time to go back to school. Lunches are served between 11:30 a.m. and 1 p.m. Monday through Friday. The program is located on Penn Street, at the intersection with Coal Street. Organizers Lee Caulkins and Michelle Mehallic said they serve up to 75 lunches per day. The program is funded through the federal government.
