The turnpike has reopened after a crash left one dead and several injured at mile marker 74.1 northbound near Parryville.

One person is dead and at least three have been flown to area trauma centers. Six passengers have been reported to be injured.

The incident happened at 8:25 p.m., just south of the Mahoning Valley interchange and three miles north of the tunnel.

Motorists were detoured at the Lehigh Valley interchange while police were investigating.

All lanes remain blocked at the scene.
