Vehicle crashes along dirt road

State police at Schuylkill Haven reported investigating a one-vehicle crash that occurred along a dirt road in Schuylkill County.

Troopers said Christopher J. Morgan, 30, of Minersville, was driving a 2003 Dodge 1500 truck southbound on a dirt road in Wayne Township at 5:15 pm. on Saturday. The site is near Weiser State Forest, off Panther Valley Road.Morgan lost control of the vehicle on the icy road, went onto the east berm and down an embankment, where it flipped onto its roof and came to rest facing south.Neither Morgan nor passengers Robert Hillbish-Mehlman, 25, of Minersville, and Hunter S. Purcell, 23, of Pottsville, were injured.Troopers also investigated a crash at 8:27 p.m. on Jan. 15 along Route 61 in Port Clinton borough. Troopers said Christopher D. Shaak, 30, of Shoemakersville, was driving a 2006 Ford F250 truck southbound when he lost control and struck a 2005 Chevrolet Equinox, which was legally parked along the west berm.After impact the truck continued south along the berm and struck the base of a business sign in the parking lot of the business, where it came to rest.Shaak was not injured. Troopers said Shaak was cited for the crash.
