Schuylkill County commissioners reorganize

Schuylkill County commissioners reorganized Monday, with Frank J. Staudenmeier continuing as chairman and George F. Halcovage Jr. as vice chairman.

Commissioners will continue to meet at 10 a.m. Wednesdays, with the first and third meetings each month as work sessions and the second and fourth as regular voting meetings.The exceptions to the work sessions are in May, when the second work session will be held May 21; August, when the first work session will be held Aug. 6; and November when the first work session will be held Nov. 5.The exceptions to the regular meetings are in April, when the second meeting will be held at 6 p.m. April 22; October, when the second meeting will be held at 6 p.m. Oct. 28; and November, when the first meeting will be held Nov. 12.Salary board meetings will be held as necessary following commissioners' meetings.The retirement board will meet the second Wednesday of each month following the commissioners' meeting, except for November, when it will be held Nov. 12, and at 11 a.m. Feb. 18, April 15, May 21, July 15, Aug. 19, Oct. 21 and Nov. 18The county Prison Board will meet at 11:15 a.m. Jan. 21 in the commissioners' board room.It will meet at 11 a.m. March 18, June 17, Sept. 16 and Dec. 16 in the classroom of the county prison, across the street from the courthouse in Pottsville.
