Palmerton Area School Board acted on the following items at its meeting last week:

• Approved the general operating budget of the Carbon Lehigh Intermediate Unit for the fiscal year July 1, 2015, to June 30, 2016. The CLIU budget is flat funded, the board said.• Accepted the donation of $250 from the Palmerton High School Class of 2015 Parents Club, from their craft fair proceeds, to the PHS Class of 2015 activity fund.• Accepted the donation of $795 from the S.S. Palmer Elementary PTO for reimbursement of playground mats.• Approved the establishment of the "PLURAL" club in the high school, a diversity club for students.• Approved Christina Bradley and Olga Blahy as guest teachers.• Approved Norman Zern as a substitute custodian.• Granted permission to business manager Matthew Sawarynski to attend the annual PA Association of School Business Officials conference in Hershey from March 11-13, at a cost not to exceed $750.
