Hit-and-run crashes reported

State police at Fern Ridge reported investigating two hit-and-run crashes in Monroe County.

The first occurred on Tuesday at 12:10 p.m. in the lot of the County Gas and Convenient Mart, located along Route 715 in Jackson Township. Troopers said a vehicle was being backed out of a parking stall when the rear bumper struck a gas pump. The driver then fled the scene. The hit-and-run vehicle is a black Chevrolet Blazer/Trailblazer. The driver appeared to be a middle-aged white man with a ponytail and goatee/beard.The second hit-and-run was reported at 9:02 p.m. on Aug. 20 in the parking lot of the General Dollar Store along Route 115 in Chestnuthill Township. A vehicle was backing out of a stall and the rear end struck a parked 2008 Mitsubishi. The driver then fled the scene. The driver was described as being a white woman in her 30s with dirty blond hair. The vehicle was a dark-colored pickup.
